With an air conditioner in place, you are able to maintain cool temperatures both at home and in the office despite unbearable temperatures. You can choose the type of AC you want from different types available and among several brands that are in the market. This can be a little confusing. So, which is the right one for your Edison NJ office or home? Get to know these differences before AC installation Edison NJ personnel finally come to your property.

Among the several AC types in the market, a monoblock or standalone air con is the cheapest and easiest to use. It is used to cool a specific area in the house. For example, you could use it on your table room on a hot summer day. You only need to plug it into power and use it, as it requires no installation. However, monoblock AC does not last long and makes lots of noise while running.

There are also ceiling, wall or window mounted ACs. These are fixed to either of these surfaces with one side being in the house and the other outside. These air cons are good for single rooms although they are a bit noisier. It requires skilled personnel to install and service the system.

For more efficient cooling, a split air conditioner is better. Its able to cool up to two rooms efficiently. It has an outside component that compresses the air into the internal cooler. It is reliable and quiet but cannot be used in places where multiple rooms require air conditioning.

For more than two rooms, a multi-split air system AC would be better. It works the same as the split air AC except that it comes with more units and a powerful compressor on the outside. It is more expensive and requires professional routine maintenance to work properly. Its cost depends on the number of units you choose to install.

For very large houses, having a single system is preferable. A centralized system comes in handy. It is housed in a room and air pushed to other rooms by use of ducts. It is easy to operate and can be manipulated remotely. It is also quiet and very efficient in its operation. You can configure when it conditions a room, at what temperature different from other rooms. Its cost vary with the size of the building in which it is to be installed.

The warranty is very important when selecting the brand to buy. Its length and applicable terms and conditions should be well understood. These vary from model to model and the location of the building. The warranty may only cover parts that need replacement but not the labor that comes with it. Others may require you to regularly maintain the system for the warranty to remain valid. Read, understand, and compare different terms before selecting a brand.

Likewise, be very keen on the contractor that you hire to install your AC. You may use manufacturer trained and certified dealers but where they are not available, any other competent installer would do. One of the most respected professional organizations is Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). You may also select ones certified by North American Technician Excellence (NATE). Ask for a few quotes and compare everything from clarity, guarantee to cost. Pick the best and sign a contract with them to install your appliance.
