Brick Pavers Installation Bergen County NJ: Flooring For All Areas

By Janet Reynolds

Marble is a lot like travertine. Both are types of limestone, but marble is a classic stone, often associated with the smooth, gleaming, veined surface. It oozes luxury and many people associate it with Italian-style house glamor. Brick Pavers Installation Bergen County NJ does suit Tuscan villas very well, but it can be used in so many different ways and in different parts of the home.

Marbeled flooring and countertops are often used in kitchens and bathrooms. Favorite colors seem to be black and white. However, this tile comes in a rainbow of colors. Lighter hues include yellows, light greys, white, beige, greens, and light blues. You also get dramatic black, red, amber, orange, dark blue, and charcoal. The best thing is to stick to lighter shades for most spaces as it will make them look bigger. Black can be overpowering and should be used as an accent tile.

Using marble in modern homes is now popular. When it is polished, clean-cut, and used in monotones, it adds the luxurious touch without making the loft or apartment too ornate. It is the perfect flooring if you are looking to work decadence into your minimalist, contemporary space. Leave out colored versions though, as amber, green, or red will look too bohemian.

A fantastic way to create a focal point in the home is to pave your staircase with marble. This will draw the eye towards it, and up making any space seem bigger. If you have a staircase, you can opt for black marble. In other areas of the home, like your bathroom, keep your tiling light in color for a relaxing, zen-enhancing atmosphere.

Marble flooring does not only need to be used in the home. It can be used to wonderful effect outside of the home too. If you have an outside pool area, or fireplace why not pave it in this very eye-catching stone? You can use it to create a high-end look around pools and firepits outside. Use a light color to accent the darker hues of the water and the fire. It is a a hardy substance, so it takes a good beating from children and animals too. Just remember it gets very slippery when wet so take care during rainy periods.

You also get this paving in an unpolished, unevenly cut type. Whilst the more avant garde designers have experimented with using it in the home, it is a sure fire winner with outdoor paving for particular looks. The unpolished type is cheaper than the polished, evenly cut marble, and can be used to make delightful garden paths and corner nooks. Think about arranging it as stepping stones in a pathway and growing some gorgeous moss or green bedding around it. Or you can use colored pebbles with this paving as the untumbled kind is usually a dull brown. The look will be very complimentary for country-style and seaside houses.

It is important to remember that marble is not cheap. So if you want to use it in house paving, maybe mix the tiles up. Why not try a strip of it in the middle of the floor, with a very complimentary use of wood on either side of it? It looks stunning and is a creative way of bringing old and new together to create a retro look.

Marble can always be used in a creative way to make statements in your home or garden paving. While it is fantastic for ultra-glam looks, it is versatile enough for more subdued uses. Go to your local tile store, or get online today and find that piece of veined, snaking stone to set your flooring aflutter!
