The Proper Way Of Cleaning The Printheads

By Jerry Hughes

It is pretty much obvious how the world have turned into something that is mostly manipulated of everything that is electronic. Even the simplest activity which is documentation of both articles and photos are done in a way that somehow is undeniable easy. It goes without saying how printing both paperwork and photo are done in a snap and is less effortless, students and employees have had their share of the advantage it has given. To ensure that printers are able to operate at its fullest and may be able to provide the quality that is way off the grid, it should have an excellent videojet printhead.

This technology that is assembled inside a printing model does not only give a better output for printing and coding but it also prevent some problems from occurring. To name a few are those unexpected paper jams, web jams, label slippage and more. This things can be a a major inconvenient and is a waste of time.

It goes without saying that better technology for printheads would even mean a faster printing time and lesser mistakes. It regulates pressure that somehow makes the performance of printers be on its top optimal quality. With that, it only is a necessity to maintain the printhead in a way that would expand and achieve its longevity to keep it giving the operation it suppose to give.

When cleaning this areas of a printer, it should be done on a way that it is not too much that ruins the electronic components in it. But, not that light as well that may still left particles that would cause it to dysfunction. Cleaning must be at least one time every week and there should be no cleaning during a shutdown.

The reason why it should not be cleaned during shutdown is due to the cap of ink would have a tendency to dry at the end of its nozzle. This ink cap is the one responsible for preventing the clogs in the nozzle as it prevent air from entering in the nozzle area. As a result, it prevents the drying of ink but during the shutdown it would not work that way so it is best to not clean the prinheads during that time.

However, to proceed into the weekly cleaning and maintenance, safety must not be neglected. Thus, to prevent any hazard to the body and properties it should be double checked if the AC power of printer is turned off. The power and compressed air supply should also be unplugged from the wall socket so there are no live electricity.

Once all are set on that part, move on to locating screw that holds printhead on its place and using a screwdriver and loosen it. After doing so, notice how it will allows sliding of printhead out of its cover. Have it completely removed to proceed with the actual cleaning.

Then, make sure to familiarize and inspect which parts has the most accumulated particles and dried inks so that it will be easier to have it cleaned. Place it downward on a grounded service tray then start to ground it and clean it with a solution used for cleaning videojets. Make sure to use only enough amount.

Do not use to much of the solution, see to it that the amount being used is only of enough size. Once done, let printheads dry naturally without using anything such as cloth nor tissue paper. Then clean the cover if necessary before assembling the printhead back to where it was originally attached.
