A laundromat is a safe business idea and obtaining finance is very much the same as it is for any new business idea. Make sure you borrow from a reputable bank or other source, avoiding high interest rates. Lending is always available to those with a bad credit score. You just need to do a little but more homework.

So, how much money do you require to get your laundromat open and running. It's a question that you need to answer so that you can work out how much funding you will need. To make sure you are accepted for the loan you apply for you must present the bank or other money lender with a business plan that will include all your initial set up costs, fees, and the initial overheads your business will have.

Now you have a figure in your read you will be able to work out along with your bank or other lender what your monthly repayments will be. Never borrow more money than you can comfortably repay. To work out if you can meet the repayments you must look at how much money you hope to make each month. This is called your profit and loss, and for your laundromat will include utility bills, rental, equipment, your profit coming from your customers who pay for your services.

So, why is a laundry business a good choice when there are so many different businesses you could set up. Well, the first reason and the most important is that people will always have dirty laundry. The business idea is solid, it is not a fashion that may go away in a few years, and it is not seasonal. People will always need large items cleaning that they can't fit in their machine, and there will also always be people who want a service wash.

Before you make your final decision however, look at the economical climate of the area you wish to open your business in. Also look to see where you competitors are. If there are other laundry services available nearby you will need to make yours different. You would have to offer something new that others don't in order for yours to work. Offering a lower price is not sufficient.

So. The location for your new business really is very important. Do not just choose an empty unit because of the low rental cost. If the unit you are thinking of is not visible to passing trade then you will have to add advertising costs into your budget.

Lastly, choose an area where there are tourists and passing visitors. These are the types of people who won't have access to their own machines. Also, ensure you offer a service for the washing and drying of large items that don't fit in standard machines such as duvets. Of course, you could also offer your services to local businesses and not just to passing trade. It all depends on how adventurous you are.
